G.I. Joe "Bonus Wave" Wave 12 Pre-Orders

Over at Entertainment Earth, wave 12 (the "bonus wave," a euphemism for a repaint wave) is coming soon! This case actually has a pretty good mix, and a couple of figures which qualify as new characters. Click here to see the breakdown, which includes a carded Tripwire, Cobra Commander, Ripper, Crimson Python Patrol Guard, red logo Cobra Trooper, Storm Shadow, and two new Cobra Divers.

G.I. Joe Crimson, Greenshirt Exclusive Sets Out

The new Toys "R" Us exclusive Battle Packs have been spotted in Los Angeles. Choose from the Crimson Guard (4 guards and a commander) or Firefly vs. Greenshirts. Each pack is $24.99 and has what I consider to be some of the finest packaging out of Hasbro for this line yet.

New G.I. Joe Club Exclusives Revealed

Because fans demanded it, the club will be getting 7 exclusive figures based on the aborted final wave of direct-to-consumer figures from a few years ago. Some are, anyway-- others like Python Patrol Copperhead are new. Also available are 2006-style Airtight, Outback, Lt. Falcon, Munitia, and new Troopers and Vipers. Seeing how insanely popular the 25th Anniversary line has been, we're quite surprised to see these coming.

Also new and exciting: the 2009 club freebies! 12-inch fans can get what they're calling a "Black Talking Commander," while 3 3/4-inch fans can get a super-cool Destro's Iron Grenadier-deco version of Undertow. Undertow, of course, being one of the finest figures Hasbro ever sculpted. Get one.

New G.I. Joe Comic Packs Available

Target stores (and presumably others) are now receiving the latest batch of comic packs. Sets include Tripwire & Cobra Commander, Destro & Iron Grenadier, and Lt. Falcon & Nemesis Enforcer. Each is still only $9.99, give or take. We spotted the lot of them at a Los Angeles-area Target store. Happy hunting!

G.I. Joe 2008, Exclusive Images

The fine fellows of HISSTank.com got their mitts on TONS of official Hasbro images of new, upcoming products.

Apparently there's going to be an Invisible Variant of Wraith, kind of annoying, but what are you going to do. We very much like the Serpentor DVD Set for a variety of reasons. Oh, and this Ultimate Battle Pack looks real nice too. What a great year!

G.I. Joe 25th Anniversary Figures Wave 9 Hitting

If you're out and about, be sure to check the toy aisle because Wave 9 of the increasingly incorrectly named G.I. Joe 25th Anniversary Collection are hitting. New figures include the likes of Barbeque, Storm Shadow (Black, a.k.a. Ninja-Ku), Bazooka, and the insanely popular Cobra B.A.T. We've also started hearing that Target stores have upped the retail price to $7.99 each, so keep that in mind while making the rounds. Happy hunting!

Club Robot Rebellion Cobra Commander Available

Based on the never-realized "Robot Rebellion" line which would have followed Valor vs. Venom, this unique Cobra Commander is a new mold you can only get from the club. If you're a member, or even if you aren't, it's available for order. If you're a member, it's as low as $20. If not, it's as high as $60. It's a neat piece of non-history, but it's worth a look.

Lee's Reveals Firebat with AVAC Vehicle

The guys over at TNI posted a shot of a new issue of Lee's Toy Review which features the first-ever look at Hasbro's new AVAC vehicle, which seems to be similar to the old vehicle. It will be packaged with a Firebat figure, which is based on the recent Grand Slam and Sgt. Flash figures with a new head. Neat!

New G.I. Joe Comic Packs hitting

In a toy run today, I found the 3 newest G.I. Joe 25th Anniversary Comic Packs. Technically making up wave 4, the three new entries include Firefly & Storm Shadow, Copperhead & Shipwreck, and Duke & Red Star. These were at a Target around Los Angeles, and each set was $9.99. Particularly notable about these sets is that the comic books appear to be sealed in plastic bags inside the packaging, which should help keep them in better condition.

Each set boasts a new comic by Larry Hama. I'll post images and impressions as time permits.
